Itinerary description

A 14-day trek in the Tian Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan, from Naryn to Jety Oguz. Fourteen days with an average of 6 walking hours per day, on and off trail. Average altitude is between 2000 and 3800 masl. Technically, the trek includes river crossings, some off-trail passages in peat bogs and two steep passes.

The Tian Shan mountains are a paradise for the trekker as few roads interrupt the rhythm of the walk. The snowy peaks are close to 6,000 meters and rise above the steppe. The trek crosses many sparkling lakes, imposing glaciers, colorful valleys, and yurts settled in the steppes.

This trek was realized in August 2022. There was no snowfall before we went through the highest passes, only some permanent snow to cross.

Bruno, may I ask one question: Did you carry food supplies for 14 days? Where and what on this route could we stock up on food? (cheese, bread, but maybe also lentils/rice, oats?)
