La Alberca: Fonte Castanha - Lagoa de S. Marcos - Ermida Majadas Viejas (Estrada das Raízes)
Caminho de las Raíces is inserted in other trails that pass by the surroundings of La Alberca. It is the GR-10 (Traverse of the Sierra de Francia) and another short route that crosses the Hermida de Majadas Viejas, Lagoa de San Marcos and the recreational area of Fuente Castaño. The course can be done at any time of the year, but it is always more interesting in the autumn, with beautiful hairs that the envelope assumes, in the spring. Além disso, for sure during the rainy season we will be able to see Lagoa de São Marcos in all its splendor and also some two streams that run along the road.
The beginning of the tour is located on Rua Fuente Indiano next to a group of twin houses and where you can see an informative panel with a complete list and the works of art that you can see. The road is signposted from the beginning to the end and does not present any type of difficulty. The first few meters walk along a wide path surrounded by carvalhos, fetuses, pinheiros and chestnut trees that make up the typical landscape of this area of the Las Batuecas-Sierra de Francia Natural Park. This initial section is common for both outward and return trips. Precisely where the paths fork, the works of the path emerge first, “Da miragem de um forest” by Begoña Pérez. A facility that serves as a reflection of a magical atmosphere and where walkers can smell themselves and feel privileged.
