Itinerary description
Desde Valencia, la localidad de Fleix se encuentra a unos 115km. Nosotros aparcamos en el parking "Fleix Club Sendas y Montañas", un amplio terreno a unos metros del inicio de la ruta. Desde allí, hay carteles indicando la ruta.
La ruta es muy fácil de seguir. Subiremos y bajaremos 3 veces en total. La primera subida es la más larga pero con las escaleras se hace fácilmente. Las 2 otras subidas son más cortas pero más intensas. Pasamos por dos barrancos secos, el Barranco del Infierno y el Barranco de Torts, y por el pueblo de Benimaurell. Pueden desviarse hasta el mirador del pueblo, si las piernas siguen!
Las vistas desde lo alto de cada subida son muy bonitas. Es una ruta muy famosa pero hay que tener en cuenta que es exigente, por sus casi 15km de recorrido y su desnivel de 800m. Sin embargo, es totalmente recomendable!
Recomendamos no realizar la ruta durante horas de calor ya que no hay casi sombras durante el recorrido.

🇺🇸 English: Route of almost 15 kilometers, known as "Catedral de senderismo" or "Route of the 6800 Steps", that crosses the Barranco del Infierno, located between the towns of Fleix and Benimaurell, in Alicante.
Fleix is about 115 km from Valencia. We parked at the "Parking Fleix Club Sendas y Montañas", a large parking lot a few meters from the start of the route. From there there are signs indicating the route.
The route is very easy to follow. We will go up and down a total of 3 times. The first ascent is the longest, but it is easy to do with the stairs. The other 2 climbs are shorter but more intense. We pass through two dry ravines, the Barranco del Infierno and the Barranco de Torts, and through the village of Benimaurell. You can make a detour to the village viewpoint if your legs are still in good shape!
The views at the top of each climb are beautiful. It is a very famous route, but it is also a demanding one, with a distance of almost 15 kilometers and a gradient of 800 meters. However, it is highly recommended!
We do not recommend doing it in the heat of the day as there is very little shade along the way.
