La Fuensanta – Puerto de los Lobos – Puerto de la Mujer – Sendero Manuel García Rosa
This circular walk starts from the Fuensanta recreational area, about 4km outside of El Burgo.
It takes an uphill path all the way to Puerto de los Lobos. From here you pick up the GR 243 (El Burgo – Los Sauces) going along a lovely shaded path, crossing over a firebreak, before arriving at Puerto de la Mujer (a good spot for a break).
From here you pick up on your left a newish Sendero – Manuel García Rosa, which was a pleasure to walk, and eventually makes its way to the fountain – Fuente Platero.
From here you pick up the gravel road (La Fuensanta – Los Sauces) adjacent to the river Turón (which had a slight trickle of water).
This is a lovely route with a lot of shade in the Sierra de las Nieves. It was very peaceful, a few birds around, and we spotted a woodpecker,
And not a single person in sight.
