Itinerary description
La Gola ornithological tourist center located in the heart of Puerto Pollensa, is a small wetland where the Síller and Gommar torrents merge and end in the sea. Seawater also flows into the area, giving the water a brackish quality.
La Gola with the wetland and its surroundings was restored during 2007 and 2008 and equipped as an urban park. In 2010 the first Ornithological Tourism Centre (OTC) of the Balearic Islands was inaugurated here.

Port de Pollença:
This population centre was founded as a result of the construction of a fishing pier between 1826 and 1829, which marked the beginning of the export of products from the district. At present, it is an important tourist centre, activity started at the beginning of the 20th century, and in 1930 it already had seven hotels. Between the 19th and 20th centuries, “eu Moll” as the port is known by the inhabitants of Pollença, was the base for many artists who took inspiration from the light and the landscapes of Serra de Tramuntana, especially the painters of the Pollença school. The group was formed around the mastery of Anglada Camarasa, and included a large number of South Americans, such as Atilio Boveri, Tito Citiadini and Mariano Montesinos. The bay of Pollença offers a long stretch of very beautiful beaches and walks that begin on the beach of Albercutx and extend to the dunes of the S´Albufereta Natural Reserve.
