Itinerary description
The first part of this walk is through an urban area without any footpaths so you will have to walk across the road, but the views and the quiet and beautiful neighbourhood make up for this.
From the highest point of La Punta de La Mona near a nicely situated Ermita there are also wonderful views in all directions.
Next to the Club Deportivo Alcazar a beautiful track winds itself along the cliff side giving very nice views of Punta de La Mona, Marina Del Este and Almunecar.
From the Mirador, or what is left of it, you will get a good picture of what exactly can be seen from there.
The track really becomes interesting from Penon del Lobo where a narrow track, sometimes quite steep and slippey under wet circumstances leads you down towards the beach.
After traversing the beach you will come upon the road again, but again the views make up for the traffic.
Arriving al La Herradura you can wander through the beautiful alleys of which there are plenty.
This is an easy walk apart from the descent to the beach.
