Itinerary description
There was no lead available online to climb this mountain from Long Mountain Village. The known path from la Nicoliere, is blocked by a private chassée.
We started form a practicable road we were able to find on spot for our 4x4. We planned to hike towards the ridge of the mountain then trek to the peak. It was not easy as there was no real path on this way. We reached an exquisite and challenging rocky area which we had to clear our way with a machete to get through.
We paved our way to the peak where we found and existing track near the end.
Our return trip was way straight forward and faster, as there was an existing trail which we used. This trail starts very near to the peak of la Nicoliere Mountain and goes straight down to the plantation areas of Long Mountain Village. It was quite steep and slippery at various places. Beware of the spikes on tree trunks.
Anyone wishing to go to La Nicoliere Mountain peak, from long Mountain Village, I advise to use my return trip path as it is a clear existing trail.
