Itinerary description
If you are coming from yeguada, follow the road to Chitre. When you see a plaque welcome to Chitre and an yellow house, stop there for parking (carnaval weekend: 2 dollars). If you decided to go with a guide will be $15, it is not necessary, but we hired one as we were uncertain. You have to pay $1/pax to enter the property.
Going to Silampa is basically downhill, on the last part I started to feel my left knee due the strong inclination.
Going back is harder as it is uphill (at least no knee pain). During February winter there was a nice strong breeze so the sun was not as bad but I can imagine on regular months it probably feels much hotter.
The diving place is really beautiful, and the water just cold in the begining. We stayed there for about 1,5h.
Although we took 1 hours each way, i would not say this is an easy trekking for everyone, mainly considering the return.
Overall highly recommended. Mainly early morning with less people. Because we were in carnaval, it was quite full, but we enjoyed anyway.
