Itinerary description
Beautiful hike with open views all the way to the lakes.
Leaving from the village of Ens. I parked opposite the last house in the village, but if you continue up the small track there is parking and view point for a few cars.
Only one sign saying the way to the lacs so the rest must be done with following the worn tracks and the cairns, but ok to follow.
After the first climb thru the tees and around a small march pond, head towards Pic de Houtas , feels like you are heading wrong direction, but it doubles back . looks like the best gradient for the climb .
You arrive at a flat area with an old ruined hut..trail heads south now and over a small col and you see a ridge ahead..keep going towards and you pick up the trail that zig zags to the top and a small breche to squeeze through...out above the ridge take the lower left hand trail..nothing marked , feel like the wrong trail as on grass, but after a few metres ..you can see the trail ahead of you as it descends down on one flank of the valley.
Up ahead is another ridge and this is the lacs...
Trail well visible now until you comet o an area with shale and scree, a few different cairns lead the way to grassy ridge and arrive at the lacs.
I took another small accent behind the lacs to take some photos..not recommended as steep shale.
Still snow at this level , some other hikers were heading further up , but i was not equipped with crampons ..
