Itinerary description
From Rutinda to Itambira island
This was a fast and easy walk. Easy to make a round trip if you want. This can also be easily done within one day from Kabale alltho I recommen to stay at one of the many options at lake Bunyonyi.
We took morotbikes to the starting point. The road is uncovered, easy and doesn’t have many hills.
For sleeping there is a nice and cheap place at the baginning (see the map). Also in the end at Entuhe (see the map) you find accommodation, food and all kinds of activities. This is a charity program so if you have time to spend they are looking for volunteers for short or long time. They are very appreciative if you even stop by for a lunch. It takes some time for them to cook it so maybe its best to order and walk some more while waiting.
In the end there is a Itambira island. Staff from a hotel will come to get you if you just wait at the shore. We stayed at paradise eco hub. They let us pitch our tent on the garden for 15000 ugx. We could use the shower and bathroom. They serve food, water and beer and have canoe renting. You can ask them to call you a motorbike back to the town.

Did you travel there alone, or is a guide needed?
