Itinerary description
Lake rotoiti circuit, this was a great easy walk which doesn't contain any seriously steep sections. There are a couple of creek crossings but if you take care you shouldn't get wet, unlike me when I slipped on a rock and ended up on my bum in the creek and wet shoes for the rest of the walk. I took the shortcut over the river where I took my shoes off and walked across a slower moving section of river, if you didn't want to do this you can take the longer route over the swing bridge but this will add another hour or so to the trip.
If you weren't keen on doing the 27km in one day you can stay in one of the cabins at the lake head both of which looked comfortable.
