LANZAROTE: 7ª etapa vuelta a la isla (Orzola-Famara)

PROVISION DE AGUA: En la salida en Orzola, en el Mirador del Rio, en Guinate y al final en Famara.

FLORA Y FAUNA: Este recorrido alberga los distintos tipos de comunidades vegetales existentes en Lanzarote, 19 endémicos de Lanzarote e islotes y 14 exclusivos del Risco de Famara. Abundancia de aves como la pardela cenicienta, el águila pescadora o guincho, el halcón peregrino, los cernícalos, perdices, guirres, tórtolas.

ORZOLA

Pueblo marinero situado al norte de la isla con el unico puerto para acceder a la isla de la Graciosa.
Acoge en su litoral maravillosas playas de arena blanca situandose dentro del Parque Natural Protegido del Malpaís del Volcán de la Corona


BATERIAS DEL RIO



MIRADOR DEL RIO

Antigua posición de artillería modificada por el artista César Manrique (excavación en la roca donde se ubica un restaurante y un gran mirador recubriendo el conjunto con piedra a fin de mimetizar su impacto visual). Situado a 479 metros de altura, al borde mismo de un acantilado y orientado hacia el noroeste, ofrece una vista privilegiada de la zona que comprende todo el parque natural del archipielago chinijo.


SALINAS DEL RIO.

Situadas en el pie del risco de famara frente a la Graciosa y consideradas las mas antiguas de Canarias (siglo XV) .La aparición de las técnicas de conservación en frío y las dificultades para sacar por mar la sal hacen que se abandonen a principios de los años 70.

SENDERO DE LOS GRACIOSEROS

Parte desde un mirador y desciende el risco de famara pasando de cerca de los 600 metros de altura hasta el nivel del mar ofreciendo una magnifica panoramica del parque natural del archipelago chinijo : costa norte de lanzarote asi como las islas de La Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Roque del Oeste y Alegranza .Sendero sencillo en zigzag pero el exceso de pequeñas piedras sueltas obliga a estar concentrados sobre el firme que pisamos.La ruta tuvo mucha importancia de intercambio social y comercial entre la isla de la Graciosa y Lanzarote.

SUBIDA A GUINATE:

Espectacular subida en vertical por coladas volcanicas con vegetacion endemica de la zona en el que muchas veces hay que caminar ayudandose de las manos.

EL BOSQUECILLO :

Merendero repoblado con pinos y olivos con grande vistas sobre el acantilado.

BARRANCO DE ELVIRA SANCHEZ Y VALLE DE HARIA .

Estupenda vistas sobre un valle salpicado de casitas blancas y palmeras algunas de ellas centenarias

BARRANCO DE LA PAJA:

VENTAJAS: Recorrido en altura al pie del acantilado de Famara con vistas a todo el parque natural del archipielago chinijo y bajada y subida a la playa del risco donde existen endemismos vegetales de lanzarote y del risco de famara.

INCONVENIENTES: Al recorrer casi todo el trayecto el acantilado de famara es recomendable epoca de poco viento. La subida desde la playa del risco hasta Guinate es algo complicada ( hay trayectos que hay que ayudarse de las manos). Las continuas subidas y bajadas del relieve desde aquí hasta llegar al bosquecillo tambien tienen su dificultad.

PELIGROSIDAD:
Las normales en un acantilado de unos 600 metros sobre el mar y en particular la subida a Guinate.

DESCRIPCIÓN:

El recorrido se inicia junto a la parada de guaguas de orzola (en la entrada al pueblo) siguiendo el curso del barranco valle grande subiendo hasta la altura del mirador del rio. Desde aquí seguimos en direccion a punta fariones (extremo norte de la isla) obteniendo magnificas vistas de todo el archipielago chinijo, de algunos islotes (fariones) de las salinas del rio. Luego volvimos sobre nuestros pasos hasta llegar al mirador del rio apreciando durante el camino restos de construccione militares . Una vez pasado el mirador nos dirigimos al camino de los gracioceros bajando hacia la playa del rio dirigiendonos a una cierta distancia de la costa hasta un lugar donde comenzamos de nuevo el ascenso dificultoso hasta guinate. Una vez alli nos dirigimos a la zona denominada Gallo y despues de sortear varios valles llegamos a las peñas del chache desde donde bajamos hasta famara por el barranco de la paja.

Mirador del Rio

Old artillery position modified by the artist César Manrique (excavation in the rock which houses a restaurant and a large veranda with stone covering set to mimic the visual impact). Located at 479 meters, at the edge of a cliff facing the northwest, offers a privileged view of the area comprising the entire archipelago chinijo natural park.


SALINAS RIVER.

Located at the foot of the cliff of Famara against Graciosa and considered the oldest of the Canary Islands (XV century). The appearance of cold storage techniques and the difficulties to get sea salt to make it leave early 70 years.

Trail Gracioseros

DESCRIPTION:

The tour starts next to the bus stop Orzola (at the entrance to the village) following the course of the large valley gorge rising to the height of the Mirador del Rio. From here we continue towards Punta Fariones (north end of the island) getting great views of the archipelago Chinijo some islets (Fariones) of the Salinas River.
