Itinerary description
Jesus! When at work I get exited and allways forget to turn off the recording.
Although, this hike can be dangerous depending on the forecasts, with nice good summer day it is just a time travel to the very basics. Love it.The starting point is right, you can drive and park there, if you go early, just before the tunnel you follow till the end the road on the right. I nice view point over Machico valley.
What you need to know.
You start this hike on a Levada and about 500m you need to take a foot path at your right (up).
You can also walk thru the levada of “Maroços” and have a worm drink or a drink to worm up, at “Jacaré” snackbar ( only big red building you will find on the righ side of the Levada) enjoying the amazing valley of Machico.
Following this trail at the end of the climb (soft) make sure to find a place to reconnect to the Mother Nature. Be aware of bikers they usually come from the right of the path.
From here you continue until you find a concert road. From there or you make the way back (~3h) or keep walking down til the beach. From there you need to get a bus back to your place or a taxi.
Using public transportation on the island requires to have the schedule right cause there are places that have busses only twice a day. One to leave and the same to return. Hehe
