Itinerary description

Saludos,
Juanma

Well recorded route, easy to follow. Corresponds closely to Route '4' on the map "La Alpujarra" published by Piolet. Three segments of very different scenery: (1) the cortijos of the '100 year olive grove' route: (2) the strangely desolate Guadalfeo river basin upstream of the reservoir, which looks as if it was recently flooded; (3) a beautiful track high above the reservoir on the way back into town. We came across a restaurant in a wooded picnic spot (called Huella Meraki on google maps) which is a nice place to stop if you do what we did: start on the official '100 year olive grove' route, then switch to this route where the two routes meet.
