Las Ermiticas, Osunillas
This short circular route of around one hour starts from the sports stadium car park in Osunillas.
There is a small section of 200m on the main A368 road before you turn off onto a gravel path, which will be rocky in places, and you gently zig-zag up through the woods until you pick up the quite road that goes up to the TV antennas on Cerro del Moro and Cerro Castillejos.
Turning left you make your way down to the abandoned quarry. It used to be a small lake – Las Ermiticas after they finished excavating, but the Mijas water bottling plant had the effect of draining it dry.
It was a bit damp today and must have had water in it recently after the rains of last month.
Next you take a pleasant path that runs parallel with the road passing an old lime kiln before arriving back at the car park.
If you cross over the main road there is a bar on your left (I believe it’s called bar Osunillas) opposite the indoor sports pavilion.
