Las Huertas de Gibralgalia
This is the first of a series of walks in the Gibralgalia / Cerralba countryside. It is an area little known but worth walking and exploring.
There is outstanding beauty passing fields and undulating hills with trees and streams. Sometimes you will only see and hear a tractor cultivating the land and the odd bird flying around.
This is a circular walk. The first third of the walk is on quiet roads.
This walk starts by a bit of off road parking (enough parking for about 6/7 cars) on the MA 3400, a two minute drive past Cerralba.
The first part of the walk (2.6km) is on the main road, which I didn’t find busy and was no problem.
Turning left at the green sign for the recycling plant; take this dirt track (1.5km) which is parallel with the Granadino stream. It can get dusty if a lorry goes past. (Weekends it’s not a problem).
Turning left you leave all the hustle and bustle and go into the lovely campo. The scenery was amazing and I didn’t bump into anybody.
Please note after any rain these drovers tracks will be muddy, so make sure it hasn’t rained beforehand.
