Itinerary description
The famous Laugavegurinn Trail.
Surely, one of the most beautiful hiking trail in the world in an amazing country.
This is the complete tracklog.
Day tracks are here:
Day 1: Laugavegurinn: Landmannalaugar -> Hrafntinnusker
Day 2: Laugavegurinn: Hrafntinnusker -> Álftavatn
Day 3: Laugavegurinn: Álftavatn -> Émstrur
Day 3: Laugavegurinn Side Track: Canyon Markarfljótsgljúfur Trail
Day 4: Laugavegurinn: Émstrur -> Langidalur
NOTES
Note 1: If you want stay in the huts, you should book it very long time in advance. We do this trail in the end of July and we booked it in December. And even with this advance, we did not get place in Hrafntinnusker which is the smaller hut. If you stay in tent it should be ok for places, but note that the nights could be very very cold and very windy, specially at Hrafntinnusker.
Note 2: You will cross several rivers without your mountain boots. Crossing it barefoot is painful not only because the rocks but also due to the cold (very cold) water. Be smart and take with you something lightweight, plastic made and that fit enough in your feet to not be taken by the river current.
Note 3: Don't miss the Side Track to view the Canyon Markarfljótsgljúfur (in our case, day 3). The view of the Canyon is superb.
Note 4: In the trail between Émstrur and Langidalur (day 4 in our case), take the deviation to see the Canyon Markarfljótsgljúfur. Not so impressive that the side track referred before, but even spectacular.

Es una ruta amb un paissatge molt diversificat, Volcans, glaciars, deserts, canyons, rierols glaciars, rius calents, creuar rius congelats. Molt i molt maca.
Nosaltres l'hem fet en 2 dies i ha sigut dur, la segona etapa es fa molt pesada tot i que et recompensa amb pasisatges molt macos.
Els refugis no son com a Catalunya, España o França. No hi ha descansos en cap i tampoc trobareu mantes o llançols. N'hi ha que son més nous i grans i n'hi ha algun molt petit i poc cuidat.
Si voleu acampar prepareu-vos per pluja i ven fort, canvia continuament el temps i s'ha d'esta continuament preparat pels canvis de temps. Com be diuen, en un dia passes 4 estacions a Islandia.
Molt recomananada. La part mes maca es l'etapa 1 i part de la 2. la 3a es una mica pesada per que passes con esplenades desertiques i planes en canvi la 3a comença fer una altre cop el canvi i millor el paissatge

Een prachtige tocht door wisselende landschappen. Bij een goede conditie goed te lopen, neem de tijd om te genieten onderweg. Wij hebben de tocht in de 1e week september gelopen en overnacht in de vooraf gereserveerde hutten. Het weer onderweg varieerde van sneeuwstorm, regen, helder weer, heldere nachten met prachtige Noorderlicht en in de nacht temperaturen tot -19. Zorg voor voldoende voedsel omdat je onderweg nauwelijks iets kunt kopen.
