Ruta que se inicia en el pueblo de Lebeña, aunque también es posible llegar a la Braña de los tejos desde Cicera y desde Bedoya.
Dejar el coche a la entrada de Lebeña. Uno no debe marcharse sin visitar la iglesia mozárabe antes o después de la ruta.
Hay una fuente al poco de iniciar la ruta para coger buen agua y también varios abrevaderos y manantiales durante la ascensión. La subida se realiza por una pista con una pendiente progresiva en todo el recorrido pero espectacular a la vez. Hay que estar atentos a distintas bifurcaciones de caminos que podrían despistar si no se sigue bien la pista adecuada. La subida es fuerte( desde 243 m a 1404).Nosotros la hicimos en una ocasión en pleno invierno pisando nieve sin poder llegar a la Braña y esta vez en pleno otoño disfrutando de la hojarasca, de la caída de las hojas. ¡Siempre es espectacular! Atravesar el hayedo, llegar a la pradería, estar entre los tejos milenarios.

The route begins in Lebeña, a tipycal village with a very interesting mozarabic church.
You can take water just outside the village and you must take the path following your GPS tracks. The way goes up and up and sometime later you will be walking through a pretty forest. Later on a big field appears.It may be a good moment to have meal.You must go on walking up for half and hour more or less to arrive to the "braña de los tejos", a millenarian forest of ancient trees (tejos) where you can remember the ancient cantabric soldieres fighting against the Roman Imperium soldiers to avoid the conquest of the territory.
The way to go back is very similar following the track but you can come back by the same way exactily.
I think this is one of the most pretty places in Cantabria. I hope you like too when you visit it.
