Itinerary description
This was the most challenging hiking trip I ever made. 10 days with my dog, about 120 km through often absolute wilderness, fully self supplied.
This is bear country! Be aware and prepared!!
With 24 kg of gear including food supply for 10 days (plus 3 liter of water per day to carry), it was a strain to climb the extreme steep and high slopes. In total 7300 m.
Challenge was to get water: There is no water to be found at high altitudes, and I was always happy if I found a cattle watering place to fill my bottles.
The trail was often hard to find and can easily be missed - GPS is strongly recommended.
I made the trip middle of October, and most of the time I was completely alone. Most mountain shelters closed / no catering.
But it was absolutely wonderful!
