Les drailles perdues

Drive about 1 km West of Bonnevaux on an extremely narrow road.

The hike starts at the col du Peras.

Hike uphill on a rocky forest road, for a warming up.

At the signed crossing (Straight 1) go straight on uphill.
At the cross Garde de Dieu go straight on.
Shortly thereafter a withe sign Souces 100M, go straight on for about 100 meters and turn right on a forest road.
The forest road fades and the the trail goes steeper downhill, eventually meeting another forest road.
Turn right.
A tricky point, a 4 way crossing with a wide opening, the right one is straight ahead, also the less obvious one.
A bit covered by vegetation, look for the yellow marker.
Going downhill, you can see the forest road leading up to the summit.
A steep hike up to the summit, the highest point of the hike, on a very steep rocky forest road.
Over the next lower summit take the right marked crossing number 3.
After a short while the trail leads to the right, towards a shelter.
Now starts the most difficult part of the hike, as the trail leads on a steep and slippery path downhill.
At a 3 way crossing X2 turn right towards Nojaret.
In Nojaret you have to go past the gate, towards the cemetary.
Going downhill, meeting the road, follow the road and cross a bridge, turn right at X 5 on a steep and winding trail uphill, probably the hardest part of the trail.

Just past the mairie (there is drinking water inside) in Bonnevaux the trail is picked up, to the right leading uphill.
The trail is a bit harder to follow. At the X7 the trail leads a bit uphill and to the left.
When you see sheep sheds, the trail goes uphill (look for the marker behind the sheds), following it only for a short while uphill, then turn left.
The trail is hard to find at this point, look for the trail just above the sheds.
In no case head on the trail uphill.

At the crossing head back to the parking.
