Walk uphill from parking and past activity centre and refuge on the road

Quickly enter beech forest and follow gently rising path heading west

After 50 min following gr10 pass large stone cairn with river below to right. Moment later start to emerge from forest

After hr from parking emerge out of forest onto large pastures rolling toward grey granite rock walls leading up to pic d'anie. There's a cabin on right but keep going straight ahead WSW

From cabane de Cap de Baitch head right north on gr10 to Pas d'Azuns. From parking to this cabin is hr 20. Cheese sold here by shepherd in summer and water available and good camping

Approaching the pass the terrain gets rockier and steeper as cliffs form

Pas d'Azuns. Head down past this a couple metres and leave gr10 heading Ene to the right (there's a rain gauge by path and the grassy trail is a little indistinct but U can see the path U need to follow leading up very steep to summit

The path runs just back from edge of high cliffs

Path is clearer as it crosses scree around north flank of peaks

Reaching grassy flatter part with five or so small for trees start a sharp off piste zig zag uphill following cairns

Reach high gap with rock pinnacles and continue up and east

Use your hands to go over a rock dip and then right up last bit to summit again with hands

I took wrong path up. It runs along edge of cliff past this drop off

Where I went wrong was going over this ridge with gap in rock. Don't go over but instead at top climb rightin a couple steps and onto clear trail to summit. Easy to find descending but harder climbing but is very safe and easy

Just past this rock is direction finding is slightly difficult

On way back follow grassy ridge line all way on a side path which affords ever changing views
