Itinerary description
Starting/ending point city Čačak
Track was not officially traverse recommended by Tourist Organization of Čačak
First it was reverse path, second I added some extra kilometers to avoid duplicate paths
So as a conclusion
First if you plan to follow track I can highly recommend to follow official track by TO Čačak since their track was optimized and shorten.
Optimization is facts that you will first perform ascent to summit Ovčar (let say difficult path) and then go to the summit Kablar since end of the track (almost 14 kilometers) are on the flat terrain.
One more recommendation is to reserve room in Ovčar Spa after descent from summit Ovčar and second day perform ascent to summit Kablar.
Be aware that track from city Čačak to summit Ovčar on some parts is not well marked.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Difficulty of the track is only my perception
Consider the facts 52 kilometers and 17 hours of walking in one day!
Waypoints
Mark point
Unfortunately some of the path cannot be followed due to fences so you must find alternative ways
River Kamenica and bridge
Be aware of this part. This part is near to new highway and trucks are often pass this part
View on river West Morava
Taken from Wikipedia River West Morava between the Ovčar (north) and Kablar (south) mountains; the river here carved the Ovčar-Kablar Gorge; the West Morava is dammed in the gorge (which is called Serbian Mount Athos, due to many monasteries) and again right after it, so the artificial Ovčar-Kablar and Međuvršje lakes are formed.
Marked point near royal oak
Attention Near the meadow part of track was covered with construction waste (bricks, stones even part of asphalt road). Some ..... people use nature as garbage can!
Intersection near summit Kablar
One of the best marked mountains are Kablar and Ovčar. Regular short tracks are well marked with metal bars and plates. Unfortunately Ovčar Kablar travers in some parts was not covered with good signs
Summit Kablar
There is a two points marked as summit but one with panoramic platform is few meter lowest than official summit 889 meters asl. This comment is for my great friend SinPe I am an unofficial member of mountaineering's association from Novi Sad named Fruškogorštak, with a tendency to become an official member but only if they offer to me president role. :-) He promised to me that I will be president one day only if I can pass 100 kilometers in one singe day!
Path to the monastery Sretenje
Ovčar Kablar gorge is called Serbian Mount Athos, due to many monasteries. Preobraženej and Sretenje are on the traverse
Information table with path to the summit Ovčar
As I said this is the one of the best marked trails with many useful informations
Summit Ovčar
Summit Ovčar was covered with trees so there is no great panoramic view as on Kablar
Intersections near village Dučalovići
From opposite side of Ovčar (opposite from Ovčar Spa) there is bicycle trails
Marked point on the tree
Track leading from summit Ovčar is not well marked. Several times I need to go back and find marked point on the trees. My assumptions are that people from villages cutting the trees not taking care about mountaineers signs
Metal plates showing path and distances
Very well organised (on some points) and useful information
