Itinerary description

Superb three hr family walk with lovely beech forest. One of most impressive waterfalls in Pyrenees and vast livestock pastures shadowed by a big cirque. Superb family walk. Allow 2.5hrs without stops.

From parking 1km below parador walk on left (true right) of stream heading up valley

Immediately behind the wooden national Park office and picnic area follow sign for cascade de larri heading now directly toward large parador

Cross stream and follow green way markers up normally dry river bed

Veer right at junction and go up toward waterfall

After a half hr climb reach a cement road (park cars only) and turn right to cross bridge in front of head of waterfall

After few min go through livestock gate. Immediately afterwards at signed junction head left off piste following gr11 sign uphill to llanos de la larri

Cross cross over piste three times before ground levels out in vast llanos de la llanos pastures and huge pineta cirque. All way up are a number of info boards. The views from this cirque to the walls of the mt perdu massif and the mountain itself are astounding. The huge waterfall coming off my perdu is the Cascade de maraboue

Divine ten min stroll over flat bouncy grass pastures to Cascade de Circo at head of valley

Rtn by same path back out of pastures to signed junction by gate. Here continue straight ahead down hill not on path U went. It's signed for the pradera de pineta 1.1km. descend hard downhill through forest

After a steep 20min drop arrive on road next to the Pineta Hermitage and the parador. Turn left and walk couple min back to car
