Itinerary description
The outstanding beauty of this walk is the lack of human structures as it meanders along with constant direction and elevation changes.
The walk begins 7 kilometres outside El Burgo on the road to Serrato
The walk is along a wide unsurfaced track for most of its length, it is circular with a short steep section of concrete path at the beginning and end.
After walking alongside a section of cultivated land we go through the grounds of the Cortijo de la Herradura and up into the wooded area known as Loma del Pero.
Tracks and fire breaks are the only signs of the modern age. Our lunch stop point will be decided on the day, either hiding from or basking in the sun.
The final ascent to the coach pickup point is rewarded with a magnificent view, simply one of the best.
The post walk refreshments will be taken at Venta El Porra in the heart of El Burgo.
Points of Interest – Richness of the flora and wildlife (if we are quiet).Beautiful intense folded rock formations in an almost undiscovered area of the Parque Natural Sierra de las Nieves.
