Itinerary description
Some numbers are slightly off in wikiloc:
- Min. elevation: 1989 m.
- Max. elevation: 2835 m.
One of the most enjoyable hikes I've done so far. Incredibly beautiful scenery. Started hiking at 08:00. Didn't find anyone until after the Cabane des Aiguilles Rouges. Most people come from or go straight to Lac Bleu.
Be aware: plenty of snow (up to my waist in some sections) (May 28) near the Cabane, particularly on the way down to Lac Bleu. Had to slide down that section, lying, back against the snow. Not my proudest moment but did the trick.
Water streams can be found almost everywhere.
Tougher section (in my opinion; keep in mind I was carrying a 15kg rucksack) is actually the path from Lac Bleu back to Arolla. Maybe it is just because I didn't expect it. 1h15min aprox. of rough terrain with constant ups and downs. Not the happy, revitalizing stroll I had in mind.
Need a massage...
But I will definitely be back to this part of the country.
