Los Condes – La Bola
This is a linear walk to the highest peak on the Sierra de Mijas, more commonly known as ‘La Bola’
Of all the routes to La Bola this is the shortest and quickest way to get to the summit.
I have done this walk the most of any other walk and I hadn’t realised that I had not added it my Wikiloc.
It starts from Venta Los Condes in Valtocado (recently refurbished and under new management), where there is parking opposite.
Make your way to the two white stone pillars and pass the Villa Frondosa. Then take the hidden path on your right that provides the shortcut to the intersection for Sendero Pico Mijas (Orange Route).
The route is well marked and has recently been updated with new posts and orange dots painted on the rocks.
On a good day you get some of the best views to be had. The summit is a great spot for a packed lunch.
Please note the loose stones and rocks can be a bit slippery at times especially going downhill. I highly recommend using walking poles for your own safety.
How to get to the start from Mijas village.
From the BP petrol station in Mijas take the A387 sign posted Coin/Alhaurin
Pass Km 7 and the S bend, and the Venta is on you right, opposite the bus stop and recycling bins. (Just before the road sign on your left -Camino de Valtocado).
