Los Guájares figure-of-8

Lovely 9km route that starts and finishes by the waterfall on the road between Guájar Faragüit and Guájar Alto. There is space to park 2 or 3 cars by the waterfall. Opposite the waterfall you will see a path coming down from the right with a green paint marker. This was the path I came down and, as it is very steep but in good order, it is probably easier to walk down than to walk up. Instead, walk back towards Guájar Faragüit for around 400m and turn right down a concrete track, signposted “Ruta de la Río de la Toba”, to the river. You have to cross here and you might need to put plastic bags over your boots when the river level is higher than normal i.e. in winter and spring. Then follow the blue paint markers uphill until you reach an olive grove. Walk through this and you will find two paths at the end of the grove. Take the left-hand path marked with green paint and follow this steeply uphill. The rest of the route is quite easy to follow.

Preciosa ruta de 9km que empieza y termina muy cerca de la cascada de agua en la carretera entre los pueblos de Guájar Faragüit y Guájar Alto. Enfrente de la cascada puedes ver una senda que viene abajo desde la derecha y que es marcada con pintura verde. Esta era la senda vine por abajo y, porque es muy escarpada pero en buen orden, probablemente es más fácil andarla por abajo que por arriba. En liugar de eso, vuelves hacia Guájar Faragüit unos 400m y tomas el carril de concreto a la derecha (marcada “Ruta de la Río de la Toba) hasta el río. Tienes que cruzar el río y sea necesario usar bolsas plásticas aquí sobre las botas cuando el nivel del río está alto que normal, como puede ser en invierno y primavera. Despues de cruzar el río, sigues la senda con marcas de pintura azul arriba hasta un olivar. Cruzas el olivar y entonces toma la senda a la izquierda, marcada con pintura verde, y la sigues por arriba. La resta de la ruta is bastante fácil seguir.
