Los Majanales, Tolox
This walk starts from the Venta Erita, where there is parking at the side.
It is past the Tolox turn off on the A366 on the left.
There is a small stretch where you have to walk on the road before turning left. The route follows the Rio Grande past the Central Hidraulica de San Augusto (Hydroelectric power station). From here the path starts to climb. You will find an old wreck after a while to your right – Casa de los Majanales.
Eventually after climbing you get to a junction that picks up a forester’s road through some woods, going gently downhill.
A few hundred metres before getting back to the A366 there is a steep concrete track that was very slippery, so take care, and also take care on the small stretch of road back to the Venta.
It was a very pleasant walk going through the valley and you could hear the trickle of the Rio Grande in the background.
There are some lovely views of the Tolox countryside.
The Venta is a good place for a drink afterwards.
