Itinerary description
An option for tackling Teide from the North with a single bus from intercambiador de La Laguna (No. 108).
Follow the PR-TF 40 from Los Realejos (signs start near the Iglesia de Santiago). There will be a sign-posted fork - take the right one towards El Asomadero. At the top of this mountain, join the 0.4.0 route (no relation to PR40), which is well sign-posted and will take you up Teide. If you start early and are a fast walker, you might be able to catch the 15.45 or 16.00 telefrico, and last bus from the base of the telefrico. (cash only, €6.50ish to Puerto del Cruz).
Note. This route doesn't go to the peak because the last 600m of the route to the peak is restricted, and a permit is needed, which are usually reserved months in advance.
