Itinerary description
This is an easy figure 8 loop, starting at the southern end of the Los Tilos Bridge. Ignore the obvious "rogue data" shortly after the start which erroneously adds about 1.1 miles to the route. The actual distance is closer to 2.6 miles, and the climb and descent is nearer 650ft.
There is easy off road parking either side of the LP31 at its junction with the west side of the LP1 at the south end of the bridge.
The route initially follows the old LP1 which is now virtually unused, and which has been made one way, and with one half of the road made pedestrian only. You could just follow the old road to the hairpin at the end and back up the other side. Distance would be similar, and the climb and descent rather less - maybe 500ft. However, we followed the path down through the bananas which gave us a view of this interesting bridge from both sides.
An ideal route for a half day out, or if the weather is poor, and one of the few that doesn't require hiking boots.
