Itinerary description
Peak of Arapi is a prominent mountain with its impressive 800m south wall go down to the bottom of the Thethi valley. The trails start from Harusha Guesthouse and go up across the river Shale. There are two main routes that you can reach the peak, the western route is rated more difficult as locals discontinued using it and the eastern route is path well marked and go up to Qafa e Pejes. Above 2000 m elevation the hike continues on the left through a beautiful rocky landscape with great view to Arapi peak. From here the terrain is rougher. The elevation gain is 1600 m. The view from the peak is magnificent.

Hello, I'm interested to do this route in a couple of weeks.
did you need a guide? crampons or other equipment? any advice would be appreciated
Hi there, No we did not get a guide. The trail till Qafa e Pejes is easy to follow. At the beginining you just keep left and proceed up. After Qafa e Pejes you have to turn left but the route is not like the one before reaching Qafa e Pejes. If you want to be sure please get GPX file und navigate. At this period of year there is no snow there. You do not need even ice axe. Hope i help.
Will do, will let you know if we do it at the end or not... Thanks a lot

After Pejes the difficulty goes from moderate to hard and is a constant flow of only moves, stepping over gaps and scrambles. If you are a hiker that does not enjoy this type of climbing then skip Arapi peak.
