Itinerary description
Solo hike starting from Mamboukh area and going west to join the Lebanon mountain trail (Baskinta-Mtein section). This section is amazing with beautiful sceneries all around: cliffs, fountains, springs, waterfalls and majestic Sannine behind you. Some parts need caution and chains were installed on rocks for added safety. Take your time to admire the beauty of spring season. After passing OLAC restaurant, you will cross Zaarour road (short stay) before catching the trail again to the south. You will be walking next to the road for a while (not interesting) but soon you will experience another set of beautiful sceneries. At some point, i left the LMT to the left to go up to Marj El Haour. The way from Marj el Haour to Wadi el Amine is a bit tricky: no trails available but easy job for the experienced hiker. From Wadi El Amine, the ascent to Zaarour summit is classical and offers no technical difficulty. My preferred part comes after the summit with the beautiful ridge walk to the west having Sannine on your left and Kneisseh on your right. After reaching Sannine-Tarchich road, take your way down in the valley. No trails are available here and you have to find your way and watch your steps. Again no big difficulty for a skilled hiker. You will soon reach fruit fields to the left and you will be walking on dirt roads till reaching the starting point. Just be careful at the end of the walk to avoid the steep cliffs and go around to the left. I highly recommend this hike at this time of the year. Have at least 3 liters of water. Enjoy!

The hike is long and tough as Rami mentioned.
The last part of it was the toughest as there is no clear path to follow and you are walking in the bed of a river...so you’d better be really careful there.
Thank you Moe for reviewing this trail. I fully agree that the last part of the trail is tricky and even dangerous for unexperienced hikers, especially that it comes at the end of a long exhausting hike. Following the trail clockwise must be easier: climbing this part is probably less tricky.
