Itinerary description

Hike following different tracks from DOC (Department Of Conservation) in the area of Manapouri lake.

To get to the start of the track you need to cross to the other side of the Waiau River or lake Manapouri, depending on where you start. To cross you can hire a water taxi or use a Kayak.
I decided to kayak and left the kayak at the beach on the other side and started walking from there.
The hike is easy and the views are nice once you get to the lookout point.

From the beach it goes to Hope arm hut, from there to Back valley hut and then to Rakatu lake and back to Back valley hut. From there it goes back towards Manapouri but doing the circle track to close the long day.
