Itinerary description
The trail start in Chataquila and ends in Potolo. The buses in Sucre leave from ‘Bus Chataquila/ Potolo’ (you can find it on google maps), it’s close to the stadium. We paid 15 bolivianos (tourist price) in the small office in front of the busstop. The buses start early and leave when they are full. We left around 8.50am. The driver will know that you want to get of in Chataquila.
The trail the first day is very straight forward! There are two toll stations that charge you 20 bolivianos. Make sure that you have the exact amount because they don’t have change. We stayed the night in Samary Wasi (there are 9 beds). You can text them in advance to let them know you are coming (+59174435843). It was 100 bolivianos inclusive diner and breakfast. Beers and water are 15 bolivianos. Again, bring the exact amount.
The second day we left very early. The trail untill the dinosaur footprints was clear. From the plate with footprints it’s starts to get a bit difficult. You have to go up the stairs on the right of and follow the trail untill in stops. From there you have to follow directions on a gps because the trail is unclear until you arrive at the car road again (2-3km). Some pieces you will find a walking trail and then it will end again.
We arrived in Potolo at 1am and left at 3.30am. Unsure if there are any other buses. The bus tried to charge us 20 bolivianos, bus the correct price is 15.
