Itinerary description
Geirangen fjord - 15km long fjord is surrounded by majestic cliff, waterfalls- is considered as jewel in the Norway's crown of fjords.
I had a chance to experience this beauty from different angles - from the sea level ( a must), from the hill and road.
There were a number of walks to choose from with various lengths and degrees of difficulty but given our limited time we chose the one leading to the Vesterasfjellet - a view point overlooking Geirangen fjord.
The walk starts off the main road, opposite the parking next to the Geirangen museum. The trail goes through the forest for quite a time. First it is a gentle walk in a woodland, later it becomes a bit steep with large stones, stones stairs but later the scenery changed to grasslands. The view over Geirangen fjord is really stunning.
