Itinerary description

We start the tour leaving the car in the upper part of María Jiménez, on the Valle Grande road.
The hike is very enjoyable with some uphill sections but they do well if you are accustomed to walking. The views are spectacular from this part of Anaga.
It passes through the town of Los Catalanes.
Much of the route is done on the water channel. It is not dangerous but people with vertigo abstain. It is spacious and easy to walk. There are several short tunnels (not galleries) and a long one of about 200 meters for which you have to carry a flashlight.
There are several points at which water can be collected.
I recommend the route without a doubt.

You write "I recommend the route without a doubt" but COMPLETELY misses the fact that you have to pass through a galeria where danger/access forbidden signs explicitly forbids anyone to go there (the signs have been there for quite some time - probably years). You apparantly ignored these signs, but even if you do it is difficult/dangerous to try to get around the locked gates. I will certainly not follow any other routes uploaded by you.

Indeed there are old signs that warn of danger and prohibition to follow but then everyone can do what they want and take the risk. I forgot to mention them because I really do not consider it dangerous. But you're right maybe I should have done it thinking that not everyone will feel able to pass by when seeing the signs.
What I do not understand is what you say about locked doors. We did not find any doors locked. Maybe you did not follow the route well. When you start there is a big door but you do not have to go through there since it is private area. You must pass outside the fence where a horse is.
In any case you are free to not follow my routes.
    Regards

The sign prohibits access - it is not an advise to avoid passing through. But of course it is up to anyone to judge whether or not one will obey official signs. Shortly after the sign there is a gate with two concrete pillows and a locked wooden door (coming from the west / Valle grande side). There are no routes other than going through this door (20-30 meters after the sign), but maybe you had luck when you passed through that someone had left it open.
After many people over the time have died in the galerias, most notably 6 persons in Los Silos in 2007, the authorities have prohibited access to all galerias on the island. Whether or not this is justified I do not know, as I have never fully understood what have caused these many deaths.
Following routes uploaded to this website is of course on ones own risk and judgment. I have several times experienced that older tracks are no longer passable due to fences and other kind of obstructions made by land owners, and therefore I only follow newly uploaded routes. However, apparantly this is no guarantee for a passable route. Apart from this it is indeed nice that you take the time and effort to write a description. This is something that is seldomly seen.

I honestly think there must have been an error because the route DOES NOT GO TO ANY GALLERY. I would never share a route that enters a gallery. A gallery usually has no way out so they are poorly ventilated and dangerous.
This route passes through tunnels, not galleries. Tunnels excavated in the rock through which the channel is passed from one part of the mountain to another. With entrance and exit. Ventilated. And it just needs flashlight because it's a little longer.
Do not say that my route passes through a gallery because it is not so and I made it very clear in my initial explanation. Do not compare this with what happened in Los Silos. I walk a lot on my island and I know what I'm talking about.
I repeat that there is no door. I do not know where you got in There is only one tunnel that is closed but the trail continues and surrounds it from the outside. You might not see it.
The route is safe and if you did, you would have seen it.
I'm sorry it was not to your liking.
    regards

Sorry for any misunderstandings, but my GPS showed that I followed your route very precisely. The official sign says "Galeria". Should you get the opportunity again, try to go the route counterclockwise from your starting point in Valle Grande. I will try it once again at a later occasion, but then start at Los dos barancos, go up though Valle Crispin, go the route counterclockwise, and descend via Valle Grande. And of course take the small detour to the spot and take a photo and see if the door is still locked :)
