Itinerary description
Close to Vejer de la Frontera you can start this estuary walk to Barbate and return along same way or take a detour along pine woodlands back. We didn’t quite get round to doing much aside from appreciating the wading bird life (glossy ibis abound in the hundreds) egrets and other marsh birds.
I left the campervan open so at 3.33km I decided the risk was too great and ran back and all was ok! So the river walk was cut short but I think it was a blessing in disguise. The weather was hot sling this flat arid ground and the scenery was unexciting.
Having said this, it makes for a great easy bicycle ride I am sure

NOT ALLOWED TO ACCESS THIS ROAD..:. “public facilities closed” by Junta Andalucia…. A second sign says “Camino Cortado por obras” ….
