Itinerary description

From Maro on the N340 take the next left after the camp site, park on right having gone over motorway. Walk north going past the bull dozer through the quarry and into the barranc. After 1 hour ignoring both waymarks to the left and right going under a tunnel rock formation you emerge onto a dirt road. Turn left and cross over two chains, carry on past one deserted finca and at the second deserted finca look for a path at the rear going north(ignore the large dirt track, it comes to a dead end). This mountain track climbs steeply for an hour, affording amazing views both South, West and East,eventually emerging at the Cortija Civila. (if you have the energy turn right and in one hour you arrive at the summit of Cielo). We however turn left go down the hill to a concrete garage behind which a path takes us to Cortija Almachares(Maro Finca). Take the path heading south east ignoring the right hand turn after 10 minutes continuing down to the N340 after passing under the motorway. Turn left and after 1 kilometer turn left having passed the camp site, passing back over the motorway to the start. There Is an easy hike available as an alternative by following way marks to the left before the bull dozer which takes approx 2.5 hours
