Itinerary description
This is a combination of two trails: NG12 (black cross-marked "promenade de Haubin") and NG14 (dark green losange-marked "promenade de Saint-Michel"). Both start and finish in the middle of the town of Masbourg. I have started in front of the church, where there is some parking space. I did the walk in March, so there was some mud. Both trails are very well marked.
NG12
You first walk on asphalt road linking Masbourg and Lesterny (few metres above the valley of Masblette). After 1.2km you turn left into a dirt road in forest and you go up. After a moment you have a view on hills on the other side of the valley of La Lomme (and the village of Lesterny). At km 2.6 I saw a deer. At km 3 (intersection Haubin), you turn left and continue in the forest. After one km, you join asphalt road Mormont-Masbourg, on which you go back to the village.
NG14
You go downhill from the church and then turn right into rue Pirette, going along and above the valley of Masblette. After a few hundred metres the street turns into a forest path. After a few minutes you go down to the valley and you cross the river (on a bridge), after which you cross asphalt road and go up a dirt road (you find it on your right) through fields and then forest. You continue in the forest for around 2.3km. Then you join asphalt road N849, on which you walk for around 1km, having the open air museum of rural life in Walonia on your right. After the museum you turn right, pass a bridge and continue on your right on a dirt road going up into the (cleared) forest. After certain moment, forest turns into fields. After crossing an asphalt road, you turn right. You walk on a border of forest, having panorama of the forested hills on the other side of the valley of Masblette on your right. Then you go mainly through the forest back to Masbourg (mainly on a dirt road, but for around one km on asphalt).
