*1st photo is illustrative photo for the trail* INFO:
1. Access only with permission on official website, 2 months in advance.
2. No drones, dogs and small children allowed.
3. Everyone is getting a helmet and should wear it during the trail.
4. Swimming is not allowed now, there is a special worker who is checking you when you arrive to the beach :(
5. The trail was for free so far, but it probably will cost something in the future, because of so many workers.
6. Everyone gets an instruction about 2h parking, that is not enough for finishing the trail. Unfortunately there are NO places without blue marks for “legal” parking. When we came back from the trail - cars were parked everywhere, even on essential parts of the road. So it looks like rules are rules but if there is no solution- no one cares.
7. You should start your way back from the beach till 2pm (it’s a rule?!)
8. No fun anymore, there are no boats at the end of descending part. You should go back by yourself, and it is already ascending not very nice part of the trail.
9. If you never was in Masca valley - try this trail. Otherwise there are a lot of other free to walk trails on Tenerife. Check my Masca 2.0 trail, it’s the same but more adventurous (with tunnels in mountains) - no permission needed.

Hi! Very nice review and photos! I would really like to go on this trail but I will be on Tenerife only during the week (from Monday to Thursday)… Do you think I could try to go there anyway (maybe very early in the morning)?
I’ve seen your Masca 2.0 trail too, that would be very nice (maybe even better!), but I don’t feel very confident about going on those tunnels…
Thank you
Hi, thank you :) theoretically you can try to go without reservation very early in the morning, but you should be able to go back before opening times (check on reservation website) - you will be without helmet and there are 1 worker on the beach, 1-2 workers in the middle of the trail and a lot in the beginning… Also you probably will not see anything because it is valley, you can see from my photos that even in the morning with first sun log there is not so much sun… So in this case I would prefer to go to Maska 2.0 trail, but don’t go alone, tunnels are not scary if you have flashlight or phone light (don’t forget charging device) - but the way can be very adventurous because of many rocks and not obviously recognizable path… so don’t go alone. Also I really don’t know if all tunnels are still open… I hope so :) You can check other trails that I recorded recently on Tenerife, they are easier.
Thank you very much for the prompt reply!! Well, if you say so, I guess I will have to try this one another time… Will definitely consider the other ones then! Thank you again!
You are very welcome, enjoy Tenerife ;)
Thanks for All the explanations, that is so helpful!
You are very welcome, Beate :)
Do you still have Info somewhere about the masca 2.0 trail you named in the end of the description? I can't find it.
You can find it by clicking to my trails (under my profile), there will be Search 🔍- the trail is under the name Masks 2.0 , the link is https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/extreme-trail-maska-2-0-style-tamaimo-to-the-sicret-seco-beach-3x-tunnels-in-mountines-dried-river-62262954

Очень лёгкий маршрут. В немного более сложных местах - везде сделана лестница и перила. Назвать этот маршрут Difficult невозможно. Скорее для женщин с детьми.
Кстати у меня было превышение 900 м, а не 500 м
