Itinerary description
This loop is a great way to spend a 6 to 7 hours rockhopping up a magnificent rocky creek with a couple of steep rock climbs. Starting from just off the tarred section of Hawkins road the track enters the rough Dale's Rd.
Just before it enters a private property Dale's Rd veers left through a gate and then across a creek to parallel a creek. Where it joins back up with Hawkins Rd you take a right through a National Park gate to Hawkins Rd.
You then follow Hawkins Rd before heading left up a creek with a faint track. After following for a short distance you then take a left up a spur until progressing over a hill and then traversing over the hill and down the other side to meet up with Middle Kobble Creek.
From then on you are just following the creek up and up and up all the way until you reach Middle Kobble Creek Bush Camp. Along the way you will find several sections which require climbing, edging along rockfaces, jumping over pools and dodging thicker vegetation.
From the the end of the final cliff face you will find a narrow track leading you up to the Bush Camp. Now starts the steep climb up the hill to the right of the bush camp along Middle Kobble break. This is extremely steep and climbed to the top of a hill. After the hill it goes down the other side to where it meets up with Kobble North break.
Best track will eventually meet up with Hawkins road which you follow down the hill all the way to the North Kobble Creek Bush Camp. The conclusion of the hike follows Hawkins road back to Dales road and back to the start
Definitely one for the experienced climbers and rock hoppers but a lot of fun.
