Mirador Curva del Río, Ardales
This is a pleasant linear walk to a not so well known, slightly hidden Mirador / lookout point.
I parked adjacent to the hotel, Bar / Restaurant La Posada del Conde. (As parking closer to the Caminito del Rey is harder to find).
Cross over the dam Presa Conde del Guadalhorce, with the Cantina bar on your right, and then stop off at the Mirador Luis Morales, where you get a great view of the reservoir and the lake house (La Casa del Administrador).
The Kiosko Bar / Restaurant is on your left, which is usually busy, then turn left and go through the sandstone tunnel, then turn right following the sign for the Caminito. The path is shaded with fir trees and the river Guadalhorce is down below on your left.
At the intersection (turn right for the Caminito) go straight ahead for about 100m where you will arrive at the Mirador (there are no markers or signs). The best views are going down slightly to your right, but it’s slippery and close to the edge, so take great care.
Make your way back the same way you came and stop in one of the bars to enjoy the atmosphere of the beautiful national park.
