Waypoints
Photo
To get to walk start go 300m past torla and turn right downhill by sign for camping. Go over the humpback bridge and 50m later park by dirt rd
Photo
Follow signs for Santa Anna chapel fast leaving dirt road and onto footpath going hard uphill
Photo
U will cross the road like this several times. This road is strictly closed to non park authorised vehicles
Photo
At 1500m and hr 15 from start reach the small stone church on a plateau with lightly terraced grazing fields. Views down to tiny torla way below. Chapel normally locked. Perfect spot for a pause
Photo
Out into sun now follow the path along the ridge on left side of dirt road going still gently up
Photo
The slope is no steeper than before but there's much more sun exposure which makes it a bit tougher
Photo
At 1700m and 39 min from chapel reach Rd again which U follow uphill for twenty metres before returning to footpath. Great view over torla 700m below and first views up Buruelijo valley
Photo
Follow road gently up for ten min. At 1955m and right where Rd makes sharp bend right veer on to footpath marked with cairn that goes straight ahead through pine forest for last haul to first viewpoint
Photo
Path becomes faint but just keep heading in a general north direction toward edge of canyon. Can't get lost and only few hundred metres
Photo
By Nat park sign by edge of ridge turn left along clear footpath for 30m to mirador
Photo
View from mirador. Worth going hundred metres west for view toward base of canyon. Keep away from very dangerous drop off
Photo
No real set path for climb to mirador del Rey but easiest is veer off road and start climbing from west side of peak just where trees start. Go up till you run out of up!
Photo
20 min climb to mirador de Rey and it ain't called that for nothing. It's not even vertical but actually on an overhang
Photo
After oggling kings mirador follow trail along edge of ridge eat to punta actua
Photo
Drop to a little dip where a path goes down to faya pelay. Be warned this is dangerously steep in good condition. In ice or rain it's deadly.
Photo
For climb to summit follow path sticks to ridge not one on canyon side. Five min steep to summit
Photo
For the descent the easiest option is to drop down off summit to dirt road and stick with that all the way to first viewpoint of day. The gentle road descent is a pleasure
Photo
At the point where Rd bends by mirador del molar return to the forest track and descend the way you came
