Itinerary description
A moderate hike with many ruins, scenic views, and even a well you can swim in. Portions of the hike are off the trail so it is recommended to bring long pants and closed shoes.
You can use the Amud Anan app (https://amudanan.co.il/) while hiking to find additional points of interest that I have not marked.

Horvat Chadat:
Byzantine ruins and a possible battle site between the Hashmonaim and the Greeks. Lots of wells and walls scattered around the area. Has a marked trail and is easily accessible.
Six Day War Trenches:
Three trenches from the Six Day War which include small bunkers, ammo storage racks, and gun mounts.
Mitzpeh Natan:
A lookout point with a view of Emek Ayalon. Has some benches and a rocking swing. It was built in remembrance of Natan Cohen who fell in Tzuk Eitan.
Horvat Agalgal:
Ruins from a village destroyed during Operation Dani in 1948. The area is scattered with wells and houses built into the cliff.
Cramim Well:
A well which seems to have water all year round. Has a rope ladder which can be climbed down for swimming. Recommended not to enter it alone.
Horvat Sheik Sliman:
Ruins from the Persian and Ottoman Empires. Has cave houses that can be entered (with caution), well, and ruined walls.
Abandoned Military Base:
A base used by the paratroopers in the 60s. Not much is left besides large concrete slabs.
The trail is not particularly shaded (although there are some rest stops under trees along the way) so it is recommended to bring a hat and water during the summer months.
Be careful as there are many open pits especially when deviating from the marked trails.
