Itinerary description
Excellent loop from above Monachil. We parked at the start point, beside a track. Take the zig zag route up the mountain through woods.
Cross the saddle then head towards the peak Cerro de Sol. The path is a little crumbly so those of a nervous disposition should take the lower route through the Pico de la Carne.
Path then goes into the valley. Those who have had enough could walk on round to the Restaurant/Bar La Fuente del Hervidero and order a taxi after a well earned beer from there. However they would be missing out on the best bit of the walk.
The right hand path that goes back down the valley via Tajo Colarado has glorious views.
On meeting the path coming up the valley, follow it down until there is a sign with a path leading towards Los Cahorras. Follow this path which gives great views across the valley.
Those who want a longer challenge could follow the Los Cahorras and Sendero de los Sabinas route which would take you through the canyon and add about nine kilometres to the distance.
Otherwise just follow this route back to your car.

Overall a moderate difficulty, but the highest part is a bit more challenging and closer to difficult. But stunning views!
