Itinerary description
MONDA – GUARO – MONDA
Category: Country Walk
Meeting Place: Monda Car Park
Distance: 11.5 km
Grading: Medium to Heavy
Itinerary: The walk is from Monda to Guaro and back, taking the route over the old Roman road, through the valley along a track with a succession of climbs (some steep). There is a small stream to cross (feet might get wet). Once at Guaro there is a stop in the centre for refreshments. Then it is back down to Monda along the same route to the usual bar for beer and tapas, if required.
Directions to the Meeting Place
From Marbella
Take the A355 towards Ojén. Continue past Ojén. At Kilometre 20 take the exit to Monda/Guaro. After 200m turn left under the bridge and follow the Monda/Guaro signs until the T junction in the centre of Monda. Turn left. 50 metres down the hill from here is a speed bump and La Jaula Bar. At this point turn sharp right into the car park.
From Coín/Alhaurín/Cártama
Take the A355 towards Marbella. After Kilometre 16 take the Monda exit. Follow the winding road into the centre of Monda. Keep to the right at the junction (following signs to Guaro). 50 metres down the hill from here is a speed bump and La Jaula Bar. At this point turn sharp right into the car park.
