Itinerary description
This is the cheapest and hard core hiker option with many natural trails mostly away from the crowds.
Take the daily bus at 9:15 from Barcelona Sants bus station to Montserrat monastery directly. Time of travel about an hour with no traffic and the cost is 5,75€ (cash only paid to driver-bring change).
Return journey is easy from the township of Monistrol. 5.75€ at the train station to Barcelona Plaza de España metro station.
The hike is easy with some areas with pebbles so wear hiking shoes or boots with hard bottom, non slippery sole and thick socks or insoles. During or after rain the surface may be slippery so apply caution.
