Itinerary description
Best opportunity to walk up to 3000+ mtr. Beautiful walk, stunning view over lac d'Allos.
Be early for the 2nd parking, in summertime it can be crowdy up there.
Park your car at the highest parking after paying the fee(€ 7,50?) at the first.
Start the walk in the direction of the lake and refuge. Take notice of a sharp over square left up in the forest at the WP.
From there follow the path to a crossing(WP). Cross the bridge and now we are on the path alongside a small brook till we go up to Mt Pelat. After a little climb we reach a crossing, straight ahead to Mt Pelat, to the right to Col de pt Cayolle. From here it is easy to follow the path up to the summit. The last 50 mtrs up can be a bit difficult for people with fear of heights but you want to reach this to don`t you? Face your fears, its never dangerous or really difficult. Perfect picknick spot on the top!
I did this walk twice, both times with kids( 9y). Be weary of the weather forecast. The first time i went up in perfect conditions, but we got down in a blizzard.
