I would not rate this as moderate. The path is quite steep for half, with loose slippery soil and lots of rock falls to scramble over, making it difficult in my opinion. I noted several large eyebolts embedded in the rocks in the steeper slopes for attaching climbing ropes, which would make it much easier and safer. But the views are spectacular, and worth the effort.

Full disclosure: as of April, 2018, we started, but chose to discontinue hike
Rotui is breathtaking, but there are associated difficulties. Our first challenge was trying to engage guide, which given danger is not easily found. Just a couple weeks ago, hiker was helicopter-lifted off mountain. We chose to hike without guide, which is quite overgrown and not at all groomed by anybody it seems. Don't expect trail markers on this or many other trails, except for Belevedere hikes. Even if you just do what we did (hike to tree and ridge line) and turn back, it is worth the effort.

2h45 de montée, 2h15 de descente. Superbe vue durant toute la montée.
Chemin escarpé, dangereux, et toute la deuxième moitié sur les crêtes.
Bonne condition physique indispensable, et déconseillée aux personnes sujets au vertige.
