Itinerary description
A long climb from the village of Cruz de Tea to the summit of Montana Colorada. A lot of the path is badly eroded with loose stones and gravelly soil on the first part of the ascent. The summit is only visible towards the end of the climb, here you will find a summit marker post and excellent views of the coast, Vilaflor and the mountains of the National Park including Montana Guajara. There is a restored, large tile kiln in Cruz de Tea, near the Tasca El Horno restaurant.

I agree, the initial ascent is quite tricky with lots of loose earth and stones but as you say, it soon improves. 👍
